Corporal Mike Pirtle
Corporal Mike Pirtle of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was honored Thursday, November 10, 2011, by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for his outstanding work combating drunk driving.
MADD is a not for profit organization incorporated in 1980. The mission of MADD as stated in its Articles of Incorporation were “To aid the victims of crimes performed by individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to aid the families of such victims and to increase public awareness of the problem of drinking and drugged driving." Corporal Mike Pirtle is a six year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He started his career in 2005 and quickly showed interest in combating the fight against drugs and alcohol abuse when he joined the Sheriff’s Office K-9 team. In 2010, Mike was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Throughout his career, Corporal Mike Pirtle has always displayed his dedication to combating drunk driving and drug offenders through his job performance. Over the past year, Corporal Mike Pirtle had sixty-four (64) DWI arrests and thirty (30) arrests for alcohol related offenses. For this, Corporal Pirtle was awarded a plaque by MADD at their annual "Heroes for Heroes" Law Enforcement and Community Partners Recognition Event held at West Port Plaza in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
